I’m very proud and privileged to be the headteacher of such a wonderful school as Albany Academy.
Albany Academy is a highly successful school that combines a caring and supportive atmosphere with excellent academic outcomes for all of our pupils. From their induction day in year 6 to their last day in year 11, we make sure that every one of our students is cared for and given the personalised support, challenge and guidance they need to achieve.
At Albany, only the best is good enough and we pride ourselves on ensuring the very highest standards for our school community. These high expectations in terms of behaviour, effort, uniform and achievement are an essential element of the school’s success. Every member of the school community knows and understands these expectations and the results of this can be seen in every lesson and in every classroom, every day.
Albany is a small school by design. As a small school, we get to know all our students extremely well. They get to know each other and all the staff who care for them. Because we are small, all our students get the same opportunities. Because we are small, all our teachers teach in all years, providing a consistently high quality of teaching from Year 7 to Year 11.
It’s not that we care because we are small, it’s that we remain small because we care.
